I did not feel that the associates at Caliber Home Loans were transparent with me. I was told they had everything they needed weeks prior to closing but two days before we were scheduled to close they started asking for things that were not readily available to me. My realtor is my sister, so there was more than one occasion that I was told we were waiting on title and she had already spoken with them and knew they had not received anything, each time this happened my loan was still in underwrit

Everything was going well until the day of signing. All the disclosures provided were different from what was in the contract that they wanted us to sign. My family and I were very disappointed that we had been given false information.

My husband and I wish we had a pleasant experience during our first home buying process. We used Jake as a referral from our realtor however it wasn't a great experience. We both work in healthcare, long hours, and informed our lender from the very beginning that we will both be working a lot of overtime to come up with our down payment. At the end of the day we were able to hustle $14k a week prior to our closing date. During the entire 45 days leading up to close we were constantly harassed about our money savings which was completely disrespectful. Then after all that our down payment went from an estimated of $13k, to $7k to back to almost $10k all within 24 hours of closing. My husband and I think there was a huge lack of client relationship we felt we were treated with very minimal respect . In the future if you EVER have a client that doesn't want to use down payment assistance, require biweekly bank statements so your client doesn't feel like they are being harassed. We take a lot of pride working as a nurse and paramedic firefighter, we work our butts off for what we want and instead we were treated like a number, only thing that mattered was the money , if it was going to be such an issue, or since we felt doubted the entire time saving our money, we would have never used our lender. We are proof of a hard working couple who busted their butts for their first home. Please treat people with more respect buying their first home!

First, I already had an existing mortgage with NAF. It was only one year old when I started the process. You already knew the property from the previous appraisal of $207,000. I submitted a new appraisal of $208,000. Your underwriter didn't like my appraisal and ordered a new one which came in at $205,000. Then that appraiser had a problem with one of the rooms that 3 previous appraisers had no problem with. I complied with every request from your processor within 24 hours during the week and by Monday 8:00 am est when requested on a Friday. E though I did my part quickly and efficiently it seemed like your responses took a week and almost always dropped on a Friday. In the beginning everything moved quickly but as it dragged on your response time got slower and slower. The whole process took longer than it should have I am very disappointed in your company and next time I will look elsewhere. does the phrase know your customer ring a bell?

We wish there was better explanation of the VA one time closing process. We assumed we didnt close until the house was built and nobody clarified that for us. We also have a high interest rate that we assumed would have been lowered before we closed and it wasn't. Thad is also having health problems and I would have assumed that his boss would have stepped up and filled in while Thad was unavailable. We went into closing on a days notice and was not even told about bringing the check until we got there. Praise the lord we had the funds available because our assumption was that we didn't close until the house was built. We are very disappointed with this process being so long also. We applied in September and just now closed. We had a few bumps in the road with miscommunication with Beth and Laura and that didnt help anything.

proper expectations on next steps, timeline, etc not communicated 3 months to approve a loan is crazy inaccurate/misleading information provided on multiple occasions dont think these things were all Andrew's fault; he was very courteous and I think probably working with the best he had at his disposal

The first loan processor was inappropriate at best. NAF helped me to get a new processor. The staff essentially took a break during the holidays - if that is the case, then discourage or do not allow closings in early Jan. My emails went unanswered during that time. Many times, I was not heard and that resulted in delays and errors - for example, failing to hear me explain the amount I had available for down payment AND closure. There was an error getting paperwork to me causing my closing date to ve be delayed.
