I appreciated Stephens swift communication and responsiveness, but at times I felt he was impatient with me & talked over me on the phone. I also was dismayed that Stephen didn’t remind me to turn off auto pay (a common error for buyers!) and I paid a month of mortgage that should’ve been skipped. Both my notary and previous lender reminded me to do this (after it was too late) and I was astounded my own loan officer didn’t lend the same courtesy.

I really can’t say what the exact issues were. In general, I would say a lack of clear, concise communication with regard to what, exactly, was needed from me to efficiently complete the process. The load was finally completed, a week and a half after the closing date originally proposed by Mr. Hinojosa. The deal almost fell through several times due the the seller feeling I was “playing” her, when in fact, the delays seem to have come via the underwriting process. Example, four days after

Patricia was great and responsive but when the loan moved to another person for processing the train fell off the tracks. Its very complicated to deal with multiple people and not be able to communicate directly with the person working the loan.

Erika was a good communicator initially, however, towards the final days of the close many things were delayed. I don't fault Erica for this, it seems like a process problem at New American Funding. While Erica was out of the office, I tried to hear out to her manager (Mr Fish) and he did not call me back. I found out later that he and the Sellers Attorney were in communication. I was told I would have a clear to close letter 5 days prior to the close date-it happen on the day of close.

At first communication was good, but after our home appraisal the new loan terms or amounts were not reviewed or gone over, and We were not asked to provide statements of debt and that The. caused the title company to make a mistake on a payoff account. The final signature was rushed and felt unfinished

If he would’ve tried to or communicated that he couldn’t offer a better rate.

The major problem was communication. A simple face to face meeting at the start would have prevented the issue of having to redo our mortgage and would have gotten us a lower interest rate. I don't live for my cell phone and I'm not sitting at a computer all day where I can check email every few minutes. when I was contacted about additional documentation needs, it was at the last minute and with a demand for short turn-around.
