To be fair, this was an extremely extenuiting circumstance that does not fall in to the lap of a loan officer everyday. Christopher was extrememly easy to talk to and supportive throughout the intial steps of the loan. You can tell he is a stand-up guy and knows his stuff. He was also very accomodating and patient since I am not a numbers person and financial matters are not my wheelhouse. He was great at developing a rapport and gaining my trust over the phone. The two mis-steps were that both my realtor had requested that she be included in every email. this was not always the case and sometimes she was left out of the loop. The second was that he assumed that I was single instead of married. This was the odd circumstance. I am married but my husband is inaccessable and requires a POA on his behalf. When it came time days before the loan to be finalized before closing, this had just been discovered and threw a wrench in the process, right before a holiday weekend. Naturally as the customer who has invested due dilligence and earnest money, and is also scheduled to close in just a few days, this became a highly stressful and panicked situation. This is where I feel the service could have been better. I didn't reassured, and did not think it was appropriate to make me feel the oversight was my fault. Yes, I had the application to review, but I was more concerned in the financial bottom line than looking at my marital status. Frankly, I was never asked about it. The assumption was not my error alone, and it became a battle of "not my fault". I also felt put in my place. With the nature of everything that was on the line, this is where, you pivot in your customer service and not go on the defensive. There was a lot riding on everthing. The nature of my personal sitation has been very difficult, and I typically dont volunteer telling people that my husband is in Federal prison, to protect myself and my daughter. I felt the tone changed a little once this was discovered, but to give Chris the benefit of the doubt, I could also be just very sensitive to the situation. Either way, this is how I felt. Would I recommencd Chris, Sunee and NAF to others? Yes, but only because most people have a less complicated situation as myself, and I think it would go smoother.

Your ads indicate we could have a heloc instead of a loan so that felt a bit deceptive to be forced to do a loan. We preferred a heloc. The mistakes of the loan processor Shawn on the closing docs and the checks were an issue as well. Overall the process was fine but could have been better.
