Choosing a local and in state broker would have been a much better idea. All of the final disclosure numbers should have been upfront, points, closing costs, fees, etc. the paperwork required was excessive and at times, nit picky. Received an e-mail 2/3 of the way through the process telling us we had been denied our loan, a mistake, but unsettling. Very friendly, helpful people though.

More accuracy and attention to detail (time in current line of work, etc) on some of the initial versions of documents requiring signatures. Clarity on why we were required to sign form that didn't apply to us (e.g., sign that we received an appraisal doc when no appraisal was done); repeat questions from us on why we were needing to sign kept being deferred as document is "automatically added to disclosures...and do not need to sign" and "was provided in error", until morning of closing when we were informed the document would have to be signed waiving our right to an appraisal to finalize the closing. Also not sure why we e-signed certain documents the morning of the closing that we then also signed hard copies of at the closing. All that being said, we're happy with the mortgage we received and Michael did a nice job walking us through what to expect early in the process.
