Everything was going smoothly until the underwriter "found out" that my husband was part owner of the company that he receives a paycheck from every two weeks. Unfortunately, the underwriter also discovered that the CPA we had hired to do our taxes had made a very minor mistake on our taxes. We hired a CPA assuming that our taxes were done correctly, but after that discovery we were treated like we were trying to hide information and felt like we were being audited by the IRS. We received very little communication to us as to what was happening. Rae completely stopped communicating with us, not answering our texts or emails. We were asked to provide statements for every little thing, which we would do quickly, and then we would hear nothing for a week, at which time we would be asked for another letter or statement. We were repeatedly asked to provide documents we had previously provided. We were asked tax-related questions that made no sense. This went on for months. Thankfully, Jonathan was helpful and provided us status information and was responsive to our questions, otherwise we were ready to move to another loan company as it seemed this process was never going to end and we had no idea why.

I feel that Eric himself did a decent job in getting the deal together but don't think the the right hand knew where the left hand was within the overall mortgage department at new amaerican funding. Think that the communication could be better within the mortgage department. There was a mistake made regarding the inital loan type and was never relayed to whoever orders the appraisal which delayed the closing. As humans, we are going to make mistakes but hopefully the communication within the loan department will get better for future loans. Whenever there is a delay in closing, it affects a lot of people during a very stressful time.

Communication was very little. First Time home buyers were very disappointed

Better accurate and timely communication, better organization and communication between loan office and underwriter. Able to sympathize with the customers. Overall, I’m happy they got it done but it was a lot. They were able to finish what they started. That was good

My client found out within hours of closing of what she needed to provide as far as funding for their closing. It delayed the process and upset my clients. This made it an unpleasant closing.

Did not explain things and then blamed error on client when clearly it was his fault.

The refi took too long. The processor kept coming back to me for more information that could have been required earlier in the process. The rate increased .25% after I had a lock at 3.75%. This was attributed to additional closing costs. I was asked to produce my divorce decree after I had already purchased the home in 2004 as an unmarried man.
