Communication was excellent in the beginning with questions/concerns promptly addressed. Toward the end with the nervousness of a new home buyer increasing, communication timeliness dwindled. Documents/emails often were sent out end of day on Friday, with min available time to have questions answered in a timely manner. There were also some confusion with closing documents with incorrect addresses, rate lock extensions ending a day before closing, with minimal follow up to adequately clear up confusion/concern as a new home buyer. I would have greatly appreciated more /better help in the final month/weeks before closing.

Please see previous notes. Overall, this process was more invasive than needed to be, and my partner and I felt like we had no other options along the way so we were forced to complete our mortgage through Summit. We would not recommend Summit to anyone in our circle of friends.

As mentioned, Neal was not keeping us updated at all, being first time home buyers, we had no idea how the process worked. There was numerous times Neal ignored our agents emails, I had to text Neal to ask if he was still working our account since we had no idea what was going on. the appraisal was done 12/31, Neal advised we would have back by 1/7. Come 1/17 I find out from my agent we didn't have it, I texted Neal and he said he will keep an eye out for it. How does that help? Then it finally comes back after I had to email the appraisal company myself, and it was showing as a condo. Neal said it would be all fine. 4 days later I again followed up with Bill, he advised they were waiting in our hoa to update the appraisal, I again reached out to Neal and he said for Me to have our agent reach out. He was absolutely no help. I still have yet to hear from him even after our close. We got final numbers on our way to closing... we Had plenty of time and should not have been cutting it that close, Neal was no assistance of following up on anything. It was like pulling teeth. I had to reach out to my agent for any questions cause Neal did not answer my questions to where I understood or was very short with me. It's very disappointing this was what we got being first time home buyers.
