Zach was great with the the initial process, provided support and very responsive regarding all aspects of the application process. He was very good (5) with that portion. The low ratings came in at the end of the process when there was some questions as to meeting the deadlines with the closing. Both Zach and the underwriter became less responsive when we missed the deadline and could not verify meeting the next closing date (next day). With little or no communication, I felt I had to T/O

My interest rate changed without that being mentioned and I had to catch it to get it fixed to what was told to me just a day earlier, that I was locked in. Also, I feel like there was a rush of stuff for me to gather just days before closing, making it seem rushed. Lastly, I don’t like being referred to as “buddy” repeatedly.

The initial stage of loan application was smooth. We find the later stage if process to be confusing. And level of communication was subpar. It was a challenge to connect to a live person.

Good communication among team members at New American seemed to be lacking at times. We would be told different things by different people and multiple times it seemed like they were not on the same page with each other. Overall it could have been a better experience that was less stressful.

I’m very big on communication, I felt slightly out of the loop at times. I had to follow up more than once to get answers to questions or add someone else to the email and they would answer. Additionally, I wanted to bring minimum to zero dollars to closing and I anticipated that based on communications. We had to bring an unexpected $700 to closing, finding this out days before. We made it work but wasn’t super thrilled with how these communications were managed. Overall the process was ok.

The rates obtained and costs were great - very competetive. Overall communication about the process (start to finish) was limited. We experienced lots of "surprises" along the way. Happy with the results - painful process to get there.

Throughout the beginning and middle of this entire process, our loan officer was extremely helpful. We understand that this pandemic has affected process of how things are usually taken care of. The only thing that we were disappointed with was that there was miscommunication "in house" towards the end of this entire process.
