First part of the process went smoothly until it came time to lock in our loan rate. Advisor helping us with this gave us the option to float the rate or lock it in but did not explain in detail how it worked or that the rate could go up a lot higher than it was at currently. They should have guided us to lock it in instead of being okay with us floating it when we are a first time home buyer and don't understand all the little details involved.

Change appraisal company. I would not recommend you due to the appraisal companies request for ridiculous request for repairs that had nothing to do with the structural integrity of the home.

While the loan did go through finally and Jeff is a friendly guy, there were definite mistakes made along the way that could have been avoided and made the situation way more stressful than it had to be. My loan did close late because of this and I almost lost the property I was buying.
