It honestly has nothing to do with Brian - our experience prior to Brian was the bad experience. Once Brian took over our refi, everything went smoothly, his communication was great, and things picked up speed (after 3 months of pretty horrible service). We probably won't recommend New American to a friend, but we absolutely appreciated Brian's professionalism and support once we had him on our team!

Up front service was exceptional. Throughout the entire refinance process, communications became more sparse the further we progressed. Additional costs related to escrow, property taxes, insurance, etc were actually explained by the title company notary at time of signing.

Kalee herself was actually very lovely. She was quick to respond and made sure to ease our concerns, particularly when things when a bit haywire near the end of the process. However, the process and system for documents could use improvements. The underwriter repeatedly asked for the same documents without providing any kind of clarification regarding why unless we were at point of frustration and requesting clarification. The underwriter also never confirmed receipt, and lacked urgency.

Nathan Cadena was great and responsive, as well as Diana Catano who was able to finally get me closed. However, during the process, two agents (Alethia St. John and Tammy Butcher) dropped the ball . These two started out doing well but all of a sudden they just stopped responding and provided no follow-up. It was frustrating but I think it does not bode well for a business to go more than 48 hours with no response to clients - even just to acknowledge the client. It's been great otherwise.
