Process was painless as all done on-line except for closing that was handled in home. Website a little confusing as it would list what I needed to send for documentation but sometimes those requests still showed so I was never sure if they did not receive or if it never got updated. Only issue: after applying I received a note from homeowners insurance that they had changed Lender on record which caused email from current lender asking me to switch back. Loan consultant didn't respond to emails.

Just comparing my experience with another loan company, I felt that the experience on getting to closing was a little rough with New American Funding. It came down to communication lag where I felt that I had to ping the team more often on getting status where I did not have to do with the other loan company. Also when it came to closing, the signing agent was late to signing twice which wasted about 2 hours of my time. We got the loan done but I would say communication needs improvement.

I only rated the overall experience as "Just OK" because it took 5+ months to close. I started the process back in October 2020. Some of it was due to some administrative items on my side, but the process was still very long. There were some other request from the "loan approver" that I thought were unnecessary as well. Overall, the team was very courteous.
