My experience with George was great. However, when I directly contacted him that my girlfriend wanted to use his services for refinancing he NEVER responded to her. When I sent him her contact information he acknowledge it and said "Sounds good.". However, she emailed him twice, called him twice, I even called him left a message asking him to call her and he NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH. She canceled her inquiry with New American and is now refinancing with Chase. I find his actions inexcusable.

As a first home purchase, it was memorable regardless of level of service. Much of the correspondence seemed halfhearted, lacking in effort to provide complete sentences, never mind comprehensive explanations of process. This could have been a result of an extremely busy L.O., or simple mediocrity. In any case it's irrelevant, as the job got done, in what appears to have ultimately been a competent manner. Thank you for the service, and for dealing with my inquiries and occasional impatience.

This loan took too long.... started in November, completed in February. Finer details before signing not explained. Time Estimates were not even close. The paperwork trail was lost for times, during holidays and after while it sat at a standstill at underwriters. It was very stressful and we really didn't feel much empathy for a loan that took almost 12 weeks.

I would have liked for someone to discuss different mortgage options with us. We had to specifically request a 15 yr mortgage because we were automatically given a 30 year. Also, mortgage buying tips and guidelines should have been discussed up front. For instance, since I am a first time homebuyer, I did not know that moving, switching jobs, making big purchases, etc were things that should not be done during this process. But, overall, we are happy with New American Funding.
