A lot of important things were not directly discussed or communicated to us—ex. our house didn’t appraise originally and we were given a vague explanation of what was going on and then a couple days later we were told it appraised. Throughout the process, it felt like we were in the dark about what was happening. We also did not know how much we were expected to put as a down payment until a half hour before our appointment to close.

Overall communication could have been much better. A few days before we were scheduled to close, some questions came up about an extra lien on our property. I was instructed to call a county department and ask for a certain form to be sent. They had no clue what I was talking about and said there was no lien. Then more questions arose about another document that had been recorded against our loan and again, I was instructed to make phone calls to clear up the situation. If these questions had been resolved earlier in the process we would not have encountered the delays which caused us to have to reschedule the notary (who was very rude) and we also lost money which then had to be paid to our home equity investment payoff rather than to us. Multiple emails back and forth between myself and our processor Jill which became extremely frustrating. If something is urgent and needs to be handled ASAP, then call. An email is not the best method to reach out for something urgent. By the end I was left incredibly frustrated.

I didn't really deal much with Curtiss, my wife did a majority of the work.

1) Daniel made or insinuated results that did not manifest. I had told Daniel that I would need $45k after the refinance. He emphatically told me that, if the numbers didn't work out, he would reach out to ensure I would get all the money I needed. When the amount I would receive was less thank $45k, Daniel backtracked on his promise. This was wildly misleading and eroded the trust he tried to lay down. 2) I was told, in summary, that once all the paperwork and such went through I would have to wait 3 business days before I got money. Instead, after 3 days, I got an email stating "in 2 weeks you will get information about setting up payments". Daniel was aware I needed the money to pay for my wedding and this delay in pa
