Overall communication was lacking. There would be information that a member of the team would inform me on and days later I would be asked about the same bit of information from another team member. I understand that the interest rates go up after 6 months of waiting, but initially talking with Melissa i was explained a 1,500 lender credit and only received a little over 600 because credit had dropped below a certain point that was never explained.

There were a couple of instances where we got the impression that not everyone was on the same page. Also, I was signing at closing table when I discovered “mortgage insurance” not “PMI” is permanent on this loan and does not go away after 20%. That’s a life of the loan of $135/month or I can repay closing costs after 20% and likely pay higher in interest by that point. I went with this provider due to preferred lender bonus, and I regret it due to higher interest and aforementioned.

In the beginning of my experience with American funding, it was terrible. My information was transferred without informing me and as a new homeowner, this was very scary/frustrating. I had to take the initial step to find out who would be supporting me as my lender and only got to the bottom of everything after contacting my Relator and she communicated with higher authorities. After this initial issue was settled, Brandi Hill and Michele M were very helpful and addressed all my questions.

The response of emails and phone calls was fast at the end and the beginning. But I would recommend even in the middle of the process responding within at least a day or so. Most of the time in the middle of the process it would take sometimes a week or more for them to respond. The response in the lender world may not require an immediate response. But those buying don’t know any better, and could better put your clients minds at ease with a quicker response. Otherwise it was a good experience,
