Many items were asked for in an ad hoc fashion. I would have appreciated a list in the beginning that outlined all the items that would be required. Finally, the biggest issue was with the process of modifying an offer letter and the numerous amendments requested by a boss I had only just begun to work with. It began to compromise our professional relationship and that was very unfortunate.

Overall, it was great to find a mortgage within my budget, however, a lot of things were not explained during the process. There were unexpected asks that came up and it would have been nice to know the potential of unpredictability during this process. Some of the terminology was also confusing as it was my first time buying a home. With that being said, having someone explain step by step what is happening in plain terms would have helped.

The problem wasn't so much Brad, as the company itself. Your underwriter is an absolute pinhead. In doing a little research on this subject, it turns out this is not an uncommon problem. I finally figured out that it's highly likely that the underwriter has no clear direction as to what it is they are supposed to do, so they are making it up as they go. Asking for additional documents at the last minute instead of ahead of time, not able to get documents out for a scheduled closing....BAD.

These are very specific questions and I did not have a great deal of interaction with Brad or his staff when it came to this loan. Any interaction I had was very brief. But they were very responsive.

The New American Funding group is very courteous but not well organized. I never received a date and time for my closing (found out about it when I had a call with my home insurance company and then called and emailed to confirm). During my refi I handled different parts of the process with different people (normal) but nobody was monitoring the overall progress. Again, everyone was very nice and willing to help, just missing a good process.
