Amy was really great initially. She communicated well and really helped us get on the right track for approval. After the loan was handed over to the processor, everything went down hill. Kathy did not follow up regularly and was hard to get in touch with. There was a long period of time with no communication where I believe the file was put on the back burner while we waited for a title. We had a very clear deadline for closing that was communicated with Amy. I'm not sure if that was relayed to Kathy or not. Our deadline was missed by 7 days and really put my family into a very difficult situation. I'm not sure if it was relayed to us that Amy was going on vacation right before our loan was to be finished, I don't remember that communication, but Amy disappeared right before we were supposed to close and I never heard back from her. She never responded to my last call, text, or email. Kathy was difficult to finish the loan with. We were at the closing date and all of a sudden there were documents that were still needed that was never communicated to us in the 2 weeks prior from Kathy's last communication stating she would update us. That delayed our closing another week. Our last communication with Amy was that we were clear to close with zero dollars at the table. We arrived to closing and found out there was almost $400 due with no communication from Amy or Kathy. We found out frkm our REALTOR. We had to leave closing to get get a check to process the payment and come back to closing. I would likely recommend NAF again, but would not recommend using an out of state loan officer an processor. Some of our issues also came from different in time zones, but I really felt there was lacking on Kathy's part.

It was all really good until like the last 3 weeks and then communication really broke down and it got extremely stressful

The lack of communication was astounding

As we got closer to settlement after I had learned from the buyer that we would be delayed, I reached out to Henry. After I reached out the communication from him improved. However, this transaction's closing got delayed more than once and I feel if I had been kept updated all along things would've gone smoother

John was supportive and responsive and persistent, but he covered his own tracks. I believe his expectations on my knowledge of the industry was too high. Initiall, he confused me on the rates very early on, but the most frustrating part of the process was the insurance request to not be part of the paymen. I showed him the paper trail, but he claimed the fault was still on me because I did not file an escrow exemption form. How am I supposed to know what that is without my loan officer communicating it to me? Furthermore, from my crystal clear email, he should have followed up and explained what I needed to do , but instead put it on me. I was pretty frustrated. I'd It put our closing off a few days. I think John made an oversight and didn't own it. I'm not sure why. I would use John again. Nice and professional, but I'm unwilling to recommend him to anyone else until I can have a better experience with him. No hard feelings. I'm just stating my experience with him.

Communication and clarity are essential, especially during complex processes such as securing a loan. There were times when I felt confused and lost due to the numerous individuals involved in this process. I encountered a significant amount of information from various sources, which often led to conflicting answers. The experience was lengthy and stressful, but ultimately, it paid off in the end. I believe that it is crucial for all parties involved to ensure they are on the same page. By doing so, the process will become much smoother and more efficient for everyone. Clear communication can help mitigate misunderstandings and streamline the overall experience, making it less overwhelming for individuals navigating similar situations in the future.
