More/better communication. My fiance and I were under the impression we would have a bunch of options being first time home buyers, but since we weren't given information for requirements we did not. John did search for the best option available to us, but we got a bit of a run around. Up until the week before we planned on closing options were changing. Dacia was super helpful! She answered my questions. Home buying is difficult already, I had hope for better guidance during the process.

I was the seller and didn’t have much contact, but just prior to close we were told they would have to delay due to terminations in the office. Lender did not promptly get paperwork To title company and we had to travel back to title Company to sign more papers for lender.

Competing rate offer that was 1/8 point better was not matched by Envoy and closing was too close to switch to the lender with the better rate. Other than not meeting the best rate (which is the most important part to me), Envoy did a good job closing our loan on a tight timeline and was very responsive to communications.

I started this process in July and closed just at the end of December. I’m definitely responsible for some of that delay. But not all. Also I feel a lower rate should have been available during that timeframe. I asked Steve about lowering the rate and he said it was possible one time. He never mentioned it again. When we finally closed I was getting offers for a full half point lower

The follow up and follow through needs improvement. Lots of "I'll check on that and get back to you" that never happened. We had to ask the same questions a few times before finally getting an answer, and only because WE were persistent about it. That is why I rated our experience as just OK. I didn't feel like we truly received the best customer service as many times it felt like we were just given the runaround. My expectation when someone says they're going to do something is that they will actually do what they say they're going to do, and that just was not evident in our experience here. Buying a home is one of the largest purchases many people make in their lifetime so it was important for us to comb through all the details, sometimes more than once, before feeling like we were making the right decision for us. The jury is still out on if this truly was the right decision for the purchase of our new home, but we finally have our home nonetheless.

Advise the loan officer was removed before closing and substitute a person right away. This delay the closing cost timeframe
