It took 3 months for my loan. The closing cost is way too high . I was not inform that locking the interest rate cost me almost 2K. I don't think I want to go through American funding again.

It took over 90 days to close. Debra was great and she responded quickly to all questions. The overall rating is a reflection on the long delay not Debra. Debra was 5 stars.

The only thing that made me change this from great and 5 stars was every time I would ask about something or was unsure, I would be told “well that’s fine we can just close this out” meaning end the process and not continue because I had a question or was unsure about something - it worked out, but didn’t feel that was very good customer service.

Things went pretty smoothly with a fair timeline. Web portal wasn't useful for seeing current status and where in the pipeline we were at. I had to contact people to check in.

There was some hiccups in communication. The process took a lot longer than we expected and at one point we reached out numerous times and didn’t hear anything back so we thought the refinance might not happen. Also with closing the cost was a lot more than we were told and the process for paying the closing cost was not communicated well. When we tried calling while we were signing papers to ask questions no one was available which was frustrating because the notary said he couldn’t help us.
