The people were good. Patrick was sometimes slow to respond. WAY too long to close the loan! I’m comparing this experience to Rocket. New American just doesn’t have as an efficient system. Info requests were onerous and duplicated. Maybe it’s just a California thing, over regulation. I’m happy with the final result, but will probably use Rocket in the future. BTW, STILL NOT FUNDED!

Most of the process went very well, but they dropped the ball badly immediately prior to close. I am a first-time home buyer, and I received no communication from either loan officer the day before close despite MANY attempts to reach them by phone and email. I did not hear back until AFTER the scheduled closing time. This tainted the entire rest of the process in my experience and is just absolutely the worst time to be unreachable, especially to someone unfamiliar with the process.

Communication was good when I initiated it. I would have liked to not have had to initiate communication about when the closing date would be. It ended up being 2 weeks later than expected.
