Sean was very helpful throughout the entire process and helped me understand everything I needed to know and what to be prepared for. What my options were, and his personal opinions on which decisions he felt were in my best interests, and I respected that. My only negative was that our Sr. processor had not been updated on any of the closing information 4 days prior to the date. It was clearly a mistake, however not one I see Sean making often. Regardless, he was still great to work with.

This feedback is more of a reflection of New American Funding than it is about Sean. Our closing was scheduled for a Friday and we did not take possession of our home until the following Monday. The beginning of the process, until our file was handed over to Angelica, was actually quite great. Once Sean was no longer in the driver seat, the process was a mess. The processor and underwriter were non-communicative , requested the same documentation multiple times and would not answer calls.

My only issue was the overall time from application to closing (~3 months) and lack of updates during that period. Otherwise the interactions were great. Responsiveness was also very good during the early application process.

Phil's promises of a low rate went out the window, even after a locked in rate was set. The whole process looked back 35 to 40 years even though my wife & I have lived in the same home with the same phone # for 25 years, and their underwriters could not figure out why a business account did not show on a credit history and that cost us 4 days so we barely made the 30 day closing which was promised.

It took longer than expected. We were asked for documents already provided because of the time it took. Changes we felt were significant were not explained until we pushed for an explanation. A closing had to be cancelled at the last minute because paperwork was not ready.

Numbers weren't accurate. I did this to get ahead. The dollar amounts that I was quoted we're way off, also was told that I get to skip 2 payments, when actually I only get to skip one. Just felt like he was telling me what I wanted to hear to make this happen before the end of the year.
