This process started mid June and did not close until October 7. An extensive amount of time dealt with the home appraiser. In my opinion he should be pulled from any list as an option. The appraiser did not appropriately complete his work/report on the first occasion. I had to pay his return. I'm not sure why I needed to pay for his incompletion. Afterwards, I was stuck in the middle of the underwriter reading of the appraisal report and interperting it one way and appraiser noting that's not what he meant. I received the unacceptable requirement, based upon one word in the report, that I would need to paint my "entire" home before I could move forward towards a closing. After receiving advisement as to the specific repairs I would need to complete, battling relentless weeks of rain, in which all the repair work to be done was outside, completing the work, paying for the appraiser to return again, and having him behave on my property in a completely disrespectful manner towards me, I was still no further. He was attempting to add more negative items to the report, and what I was initially advised to complete was not enough. In addition to those issues, I was advised exceptionally late in the process there were (non-active)deputes on my credit report. The disputes on the report would have been visible at the on-set. However, I did not receive notice of a need for these credit bureau corrections until what should have close to closing. Attempting to correct these caused 2 additional hard credit pulls. I was in complete disagreement with having my credit report pulled this many times, and would actually like to have 1 of those hard inquiries removed. The time necessary to work on should have been at the beginning. Just as fast I'd have them removed, the merchant was updating the files and placing the same information back on to the credit bureau reports, resulting in another hard pull. All of these arguments, missing details, etc caused the need for a rate extension. This cost additional money. The rate extension would not an expiration date. When that date past, I was the one needed to call and ask if it would be extended beyond that point and how much more was this going to cost. Lastly, I expected to receive $3,600+ show as a credit on my closing statement, at closing. I advised that my property taxes, through my then current mortgage company were paid. I was advised the day before closing, this had been verified/confirmed. There was not an update to the closing statement. After closing, I inquired about those funds. I was provided with a name and phone number for further discussion and the now the return of my funds could take 30 days. November 3, almost 30 days after closing, I called the number/name provided. I was transferred to someone possibly within the same department, but was advised that they saw no such information and would need to research further.

I don’t know how my answers generated this summation. One thing that added a lot of time was having to send data to New American that I never had to do before. Moreover a lot of the requests were last minute. In fact one document still had not been completed in time for the closing. It was not that important so Itbwas finished after closing.
