The experience was very good up until the closing date. We did not get funded in time for my client to get his funds and pay for his new apartment, so he had to wait until the following Tuesday and the funding still took a long time on Tuesday morning. My seller signed all of our documents at 11:00 am and was told at 3:00 PM that there were documents that still needed to be signed for the FHA funding.

The loan officer, Taylor, was great but some of the other factors were a little frustrating and very nerve-wracking. Obviously moving to a new location and starting new jobs makes it difficult but we really found ourselves down to the wire quite a bit. Ultimately it worked out. We also used the REI home connect through them and we were matched with a great real estate agent. Lisa was INVALUABLE in our home search.

I would say the experience was good, not great. More information as to how the process goes could have been explained early on to first time home buyers. Communication was excellent during pre-approval and went down slightly during approval phase. Overall I had a good experience. It was great but wasn’t poor.

Brett Stevens and cross country mortgage were extremely helpful with moving the process along and making the experience of purchasing a home an easy one. Although I was in discussion with another mortgage company, Brett assured me he would match any offer given. Sadly, certain commitments were not met and communication with Brett ceased in the closing weeks once I committed with certain signings. Regarding service, Brett was personable and friendly.
