Well, where do I start. Matt was wonderful to work with, it was all the red tape that was created by your Underwriting department. I did everything that was requested on My end and more. I was supposed to close in March and almost lost the house because of Underwriting. I ended up closing almost a month from actual close. I was discriminated by My home choice and where I chose to live. I was forced to spend more money and time to have this home. The back and forth was ridiculous. This was a conventional loan with a Reno rider. This was why I chose this type of loan so I could choose where I wanted to live forever, not be picked apart for every little thing up until the last minute. I placed the offer on the home in January and just closed ? Absolutely ridiculous. I had no communication with Charity. I never even spoke with her personally during the entire process. I would send her emails and leave voice mails with no response. I was also told I would have to demolish valuable buildings on the property because of one underwriters "opinion". How could that be accomplished when I didn't own the property yet ? I had to have the buildings on the property certified by a building inspector at my own cost to prove the value of these buildings. The underwriter also requested a second appraisal 2 days before closing. They had the original appraisal a month prior to closing, so if there was any questions, or changes needed. it should have been addressed sooner than 2 days before closing. The 2nd appraisal was also ordered on this underwriters personal opinions. There was no reason to flag a 2nd appraisal, the property was already showing equity before I even sat foot on the property. At closing I was charged for the second appraisal which I was told, By Matt Sundgren, was being charged to New American Funding because of it being your request, not mine. I need to seek a credit to my account, for the appraisal, because of this promise made to Me by your company. The process in the beginning was great with the loan officers but your Underwriting department needs severe improvement and diversity training. I have emails and documentation of this unprofessional and judgmental behavior from your Underwriting. I would like to speak with someone who is in charge of this whole situation and process, I requested that last week and still have not received a response. I became physically ill because of all the stress that Underwriting put on me and the thought of losing a dream I have worked so hard for. I lost money, sleep and time because of the unprofessional behavior of the Underwriting department. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience. Kara R Swope

Overall I am happy. A few things to consider: It was disruptive to have loan contacts change midway through the process due to an acquisition. Additionally, I felt like we had many repeat requests for documents we had already provided. I would prefer to have a secure place to load documents vs email for security purposes and tracking. We got the funding done which was the point and would recommend NAF and Devin.

Scott was great and friendly but I wish the process was more organized. I don't think the disorganization was Scotts fault. The information required needs to be organized and stream lined. Information for funding needs to be requested way before the weekend before closing day . Don't assume everyone that is buying a house is somewhere comfortable. Take this process very serious likes its life or death. If it wasn't for my realtor pressing and following up we might have missed closing day. Either way I thank Scott and NAF for working with us and helping us buy a home.
