Much less hoops to jump through. Clear instruction on the next steps in the process. Consistent communication between loan officers providing me with the same information instead of conflicting information. No surprises. No gaps in communication leaving me wondering and having to ask for an update. I'm sure a lot of it was loan requirements that couldn't be avoided, but knowing potential hiccups to look out for or expect would have been a game changer in the frustration aspect of it all. Brook, however, was very pleasant and courteous throughout the process and seemed to genuinely want to help. I would work with Brook again and recommend him as a loan officer.

Melanie did her best with a REALLY difficult situation. Our loan was difficult, and she had her own personal things. However, a ton of the issues we had could have been less problematic if Heather (an assistant early in our process) had been more communicative and paid attention to detail. Additionally, I would have liked a lot more updates on cost. Our monthly costs steadily rose but we didn't hear the correct number until it was way too late to back out (the monthly cost is a lot more than expected). And when we started the process we were told "$200 max" for closing costs and we paid almost $700 (also last minute and unexpectedly) Either way, Melanie was a joy to work with. She was friendly and knew how to explain things in a way we understood. She was very reachable too.
