I purchased my home and refinanced with New American. The company offered me a great rate and a very competitive refinance but my process was very long. I am self employed so I knew that it would be more complicated but it took 4 months to close on my refinance and 2 months on my sale. This could just be my experience . I have no complaints with customer service Melissa Glenn is great !! I know it was their underwriting . All in all , I would recommend them

I would definitely recommend using Kyle Jones if you’re choosing NAF. He was very communicative and always there for any questions we had. This was our first time buying a home and we didn’t know what to expect. Kyle was very on top of everything making sure we understood and always keeping us up to date on everything. I feel the rest of the process could have been better, no fault to Kyle. But our closing date repeatedly got pushed back even though we were on a tight time frame. I understand sometimes it has to be done but they seemed in no rush whatsoever. I feel Stephanie didn’t communicate as well, especially towards the end. But overall it’s all done and I’m sure it could have been worse.

Some more communication would be preferred. I received some documents to sign from other indivudals that weren't my loan officer with zero context. Just a document as a docusign attachment. I thought it was spam until I recieved it 5 times and connected the dots that the persons email was linked to Sierra Pacific.

Well, I guess OK is not good enough for the over inflated nature of the process however, I’m happy to explain the issues that my wife and I encountered in this process. I will say that Ryan went out of his way to help us wander through this rather convoluted Process that really is not necessarily under his control. Rather, I think the corporate structure and needs to approve these types of loans as well as the song and dance routine. we went through to sell this product to The feds apparently make you do makes this process difficult. I was impressed that he came to closing which he certainly didn’t have to do and expedited an issue we had that might have been problematic We had to call to get some issues resolved. I was also impressed how he Helped manage the interfaces between the real estate brokers, which were really the problem with this and took personal time and what it sounded like some personal risk In regards to his managers In getting our loan approved.. We both felt that the current process seem to label us as of questionable character in coming from a small town, where people know us. It was somewhat of a shock. I feel one thing that could be Of help in this situation is how the process is explained at the beginning By outlining the process and needs of Sierra mortgage in order to approve a loan. We spent our time going back-and-forth running down different amounts of information that we were asked to provide almost on an every other day basis over two or three weeks. It became very onerous . We felt that Sierra mortgage could provide a better way of prepping us as to what we might expect and what the general needs for getting a loan application done by outlining the process and needs of Sierra mortgage in order to approve a loan. Would have been helpful To understand that just because we provided you with information, didn’t mean that you would need more to substantiate the things we might be potentially hiding from you. We spent our time going back-and-forth running down different amounts of information that we were asked to provide almost on an every other day basis over two or three weeks. It became somewhat painful and also hard for Ryan also. We provided much of this information twice and understand that the expectation of providing information may lead to further questions and need to prove that we weren’t scamming the process, a feeling that we really felt was true. I guess I learned how having local financial institutions and people who know us makes a great deal of difference. Unfortunately, this was not possible as we were moving into the area from a “border state “ which seem to make a difference. I do feel that Ryan negotiated all of this and was able to explain it to us eventually as we went along. I feel that Sierra mortgage could perhaps provide a clearer expectation and pathway when somebody wants to borrow money from you. You might feel that this was Ryan’s job to negotiate, but I think his managers and the underwriters are equally at fault if not more so I do realize that Covid and apparently numerous issues with monetary shenanigans has been rampant in your business. However, I can’t say that it was actually pleasant. Overall, Ryan was accessible had a high-level, but there was some confusion with his administrative staff and us I certainly can say that we were not without our faults in this process , but I found it interesting that realtor and mortgage lender and appraiser who work with each other frequently it seemed couldn’t or wouldn’t go to bat for the buyer. This specifically was in our case issues with the appraisal and the feeling that they just rubber stamped an asking price. I guess In the long run, we had significant problems with our realtor and the appraiser who had lots of excuses why they wouldn’t look at an answer the questions that we raised. I think ryan did a good job working between these two groups and us as buyers who certainly weren’t easy to work with at times. as a manager of people in situations, he did an excellent job in spite of two fairly busy medical professionals who don’t usually have to deal with the intricacies of private sector and secondary market lending. I guess giving Giving an Rating of OK or eight Actually gets your attention since it’s not acceptable and us I have two ratings, my corporate rating is an eight or seven and I think Ryan rates and nine, but I don’t know how to put that in your little algorithm. It’s easy for the corporation to slough it all off on the sales people and managers, but I think this is Mostly a process issue. I know I probably won’t get much of a response on this, but if nothing else it made me feel better, somewhat cathartic. I’m looking forward to seeing how well the system works in setting up payment plans. Hopefully it can be a little bit more straightforward, thank you

Communication once the offer was accepted was less reliable, particularly when the date of the closing changed.
