Alex wasn't too bad, except that everything he said turned out to be basically untrue due to Marvin McAdams multiple failures, asking for THE SAME DOCUMENTS multiple times, failing to meet the timelines that NAF set, and not following through with pretty much anything. Of the five previous mortgage, this underwriting and closing experience was the worst, by more than I could possibly quantify in five thousand characters. I will refinance this loan at my earliest convenience just to avoid paying you any additional interest. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.

The application and approval process was very smooth I didn't have the kind of communication I would have liked about the payoffs of other credit and methodology I had to pay off a line of credit that has a lower interest rate than my HELOC. Had it been communicated that this was a debt to value thing up front, i could easily have designated other accounts to pay off but i only learned this was the reason the day before closing and i did not want to delay my funding Also, i was under the impression that the bank was going to make the payments directly, so i was surprised to learn that i had to wait on physical checks that i had to mail in myself. In a nutshell - the upfront process was great but i could have used better communication on the details

There were occasional breakdowns in coordination that led to last-minute urgency and delays. While these issues were ultimately resolved, improved communication and coordination among the various parties involved (such as lenders and attorneys) would have helped streamline the process.
