I think Bill did a great job for this being the first transaction type like this. It was a learning experience for all involved. Having come out on the other side of it now, I do have some feedback on the overall process. I wish I had asked more questions because when we were “approved” back in February, I thought that meant the loan and everything was a done deal. I had provided a bunch of financial documentation to Bill and when we came back approved, I thought we were good to go. That was apparently not the case. We had already moved into the new house, sold the old house and then were told we were going through underwriting to get the loan. I again had to provide the same financial documentation and it felt like we were just going in circles. In addition, I had a change to my credit report due to no fault of my own and we were in this mad dash to get that fixed so we could close. Except we were already in the house so if underwriting came back and said no due to the change, what were we going to do? It felt like it created a lot of extra and unnecessary stress because we were not clear on the fact that “approved” was not approved for the actual loan. I also really liked Anna. She was friendly and helpful but I had to send bank statements multiple times. I don’t know if it was the email not letting attachments in or what but she kept asking for items that had already been sent. I can’t really comment on the title company because I didn’t have a ton of interaction with them but it seemed like they were super disorganized. The paperwork we signed said cash to close funds were to be in a cashiers check but then I got an email that it was actually supposed to be a wire. I had to confirm a couple of times to make sure how they wanted the funds. The only reason I know any of the wires I sent had cleared was because I reached out to confirm. I never got anything from Lynne at title saying we got the money unless I asked. I’m sorry but when you are wiring $42,000 to a title company, I think you should get some kind of response saying hey we got this significant chunk of change. We didn’t even know that the loan had been funded until Bill reached out to ask if we had received anything from Lynne. I told him no and then he checked the system and said well she must of got it because it’s showing funded in my system. Again, you are buying a house…the nice thing to do would be to let the people know it’s officially theirs without having to reach out first. If you asked me if I would do this program again, I have mixed feelings about it. I do believe us being out of our old house and it being empty was what made it sell so fast. But the administration of the program has some rough spots to work out.

Michael Moseby & Shali Bashirian were both good, nice, experienced people who were always ready/happy to give me good expert advice on this home buying process (since this was my first time doing that) and things like home loans if/when I asked. It really felt like they had my best interests at heart.

When I first met Gil, we had a very constructive conversation, and he impressed me with an attitude of a man who can "get things done", and in my experience with Muskogee Mortgage, it was absolutely the case! Thank you. Dan

If I didn't have to deal with the check part of this. It is a real pain in the bu** having to find the address to send these payments in when everything is online now.
