Great communication through the majority of the process. One improvement would be to have instructions for how online payment may be made, i'm still not sure what the options are or the exact instructions for how payments need to be made. The website used to track and coordinate the loan progress and action items was ok, but seemed like it wasn't used for much and the majority of the coordination occurred over email.

It would have been an overall great experience exçept for the closing! With this being my first experience going thru this process, not all the blame is on New American Funding, the people who were responsible for giving me my final figures it appeared confusing along with how things were delivered it affected my mother to feel some type of way where she did not want to be a part of the solution. My attorney, Realtor & Paul Carega made it a positive memorable experience for me!

We submitted documents electronically that had to be repeatedly sent over more than once. We were asked to review documents electronically, and on more than one occasion the information on the documents was incorrect. As a first-time homebuyer, this was frustrating because had we not caught those mistakes it could've cost us additional money that we were prepared for. There were instances where, if we were given enough time, we would have been able to complete tasks. More specifically, we were asked to complete two separate HUD certificates. This was not communicated to us until the week of our closing. Additionally, it was extremely frustrating that there was poor communication between the lawyer and Movement Mortgage. The final week of closing it was my responsibility to get a power of attorney while my wife was in the hospital after having a baby. Had we been given enough time this would've been no problem. I will say that Gene was always responsive whenever we called or texted. He was there to answer our questions in a professional manner. When there were mistakes Gene was able to offer a solution. Overall, additional time to submit documents and a one-time submission of documents would've helped the process. Additionally, a call-in or check-in (whether weekly or monthly) in addition to emails would've been better and help keep us better informed.

Dealing with Gene was excellent, and the receptionist in the Lexington office was very friendly. I never met Phoenix in person or was able to get him on the phone. I had to personally take everything to the Lexington office. I felt like some of the items were duplicates of things already supplied for the loan , but people did not want to read through the material to find it, they wanted us to supply it again. And again. Messages were never returned.
