There were significant delays in processing our loan that resulted in nearly losing the house we were trying to buy. I was told the loan would be processed by October 6 for a closing oon October 16 and the loan did not close until October 28, the very last minute, with the seller stating that we would be in breach of the contract if we didn't close immediately. There was poor communication between us, the lender and the seller and our agents. There was no sense of urgency to meet the stated deadlines in the sales agreement by NAF. Additionally, I was particularly interested in a loan from NAF due to the opporunity to refinance after 6 months if rates drop, yet when I requested a letter confirming my eligibility for this, it was not provided. This provides me with no legal agreement of my ability to refinance if rates drop since the statmeent is only an advertising statement on the web page. I have purchased 5 homes, 3 in the last 5 years and have never had so many obstacles to my loan processing, despite having excellent credit and being pre-approved. I would emphasize that none of this appeared under the control of our loan officer who did try to help move us forward despite obstacles further up the line. Byran did a great job.

I did feel like we had overall great communication during the process. The demand for documents was a little excessive, but I understand that is part of the process. I would have appreciated additional contact with Rick, just to make sure I understood everything a little better. The average person may do this process, one to three times in their life, so it is not something that everyday people have significant knowledge of, so the more information they receive, the better. Emails and docusigns are fine, but a phone call or office visit would be even better.
