The process of buying and selling houses is generally somewhat stressful. But with interest rates bordering on financial ruin, It is not an advisable time to try to make it work, but we felt we had to make the move, before we had to pay another year of high HOA fees, and high property tax. The difference between the 2 to 3% rates of 2021 and the rates of 6 to 7% in 2022/23 were a real challenge to find a house where we could make it work. We felt our only choice to be competitive at all was to use the service of the company that could make a cash offer without contingencies, even though the cost was very high especially with the decision we made to rent. Had we really thought it through, the risks of trying to sell a house during the worse time of the year, with the high rates and the 90 day time frame, we should have waited for better times. On the one had we felt fortunate that were able to use this service to offer on the lincoln house but we also felt It was too risky, our stress level was very high throughout this process and I give Amanda a lot of credit for being able to explain things and help us understand what was going on. She was very reassuring with her knowledge and understanding of our concerns, and she was very responsive to our calls for information. Although this was the most costly overall buying and selling experience we have had of the 5 moves we have made in the past 10 years, it all worked out in end and we are happy to be here in Lincoln.
