Nate's service and support were excellent. This process however was fraught with multiple delays (4-5 closing reschedules), seemingly unnecessary, captious decisions by underwriting, and miscommunication and/ or delayed communication regarding the needs and changes required for loan approval. My first experience with Michael Riley was excellent from beginning to end(and this is why I came to NAF for a second loan opportunity). This experience, on the other hand, was stressful and I had to personally do an extraordinary amount of work, following up, and reset of expectations. If this were my first experience or if this were not a family owned property, I would have either given up or lost the sale. Communications between loan processors, underwriters, and attorney could be more efficient, clear, and transparent to the buyer. Overall, I consider myself to be a patient person, but this process really tested it. I am very thankful that everything turned out okay in the end, but I wouldn't want anyone (especially a new home buyer) to go through a similar process. The process aside, Nate was knowledgeable, courteous, and understanding and I want that to be very clear. His service was only slightly under the quality of service I received from Michael. I don't believe that he's to blame for the unpleasant experience. I also don't want any one person to suffer because of my feedback. Hopefully, better communication and better processes will be developed as a result of my honest and direct feedback about my experience considering that this deals with people's living situations and is one of the largest commitments and investments that a person can make.
