Timeline for closing was adjusted too many times, as requirements kept coming up at the last minute. Requirements should have been advised at the beginning of the process, to ensure prompt handling. Had to change mortgage type and was told sellers credit could be applied, then found out the week before closing that it could not. Would suggest a checklist of requirements for buyer as well as checklist of docs received for NAF, as most docs were sent multiple times, yet still requested weeks, even months later. Overall, just happy to have finally closed, after over a year of back & forth messages.

At the beginning of the process, Christopher was extremely helpful. He told me what I needed to do to get my credit up to get approved. No other loan officer I talked to would help. They just said I don't qualify. After that communication was poor. There wasn't clear instructions on All the documents needed to close until the final week

Not waiting until the last minute to ask for documents, also not giving bad advice

Gloria that deals with getting all the paperwork done and submitting it doesn't know how to do her job and is very rude. We love Tonya but we do not like Gloria.

Not taking money from someone that wasn't yours and messing up someone's perfect bank record for it.

I wish there had been more transparency about how realistic certain deadlines were and a quicker response to what type of loan we actually qualified for.

I started my cash out refinance back in October with Jenelle Okuma, and ended it badly. She wouldn't consider a contract of new employment and completely dismissed that I was currently with a company howbeit as a 1099 employee but the same line of work. I then started with Nicholas and He was pretty accessible and knowledgable. But the whole underwriting experience was terrible! Underwriter kept asking for out of the norms documentation such as 4yrs tax returns to average real estate income I was NO LONGER RECEIVING! And it just went on and on from there with unusual documentation request such as evidence documenting how a $2000 tax debt from my 2020 tax returns were paid off. As an experienced Underwriter myself with over 25 years experience in the mortgage industry, it should never take almost 60 days to close a cash out refinance especially in this slow market. I have been a long time customer with an excellent payment history and this experience was frustrating and stressful and I almost started to question if I were a caucasion with a similar profile, would I have been asked for all of this? Prior experiences with NAF were much more pleasant, but these 2 experiences really left me with sour grapes.
