Having my main contact for my phone in Texas ehile I was living and purchasing a home in Iowa made communication a lot more difficult. The experience would have been better I think if I had been paired with a local agent rather than somebody I could only communicate with via phone or email rather than in person.

When I moved to find and purchase a home in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the challenges, constraints, and limitations imposed included a purely remote home loan process, that is between myself as applicant and New America Funding, from origination to funding; this was in line with my expectations entering into it at such a tragic time. However, I don't feel that the novel challenges of this time, with regard to its potential effects on comm. and service, were navigated diligently.

They are a great company to go with. They helped my family get our forever home as we call it. Only reason I am giving a 3 star is because it seems like they were always in a meeting if we needed anything but they would call us over and over to get the same documents we already sent them. We had to send everything 6 or 7 times which drug the whole process out longer, as if it isn't stressful enough for the home buyers.

I have been happy with them to day, however... I am writing bc I waited to speak to a manager today but apparently none were available. I would HIGHLY suggest some type of training be done with some of your reps on the topic of your forbearance program. Back in Oct when we were offered this program it was very clearly explained that for the 3 months of the program that those payments would be put at the end of our loan and I even asked the rep if payments were due during this time and was CLEARLY told No. Fast forward to today when I have received multiple calls asking if we could make a payment and even had a late fee hit the account this week (which was removed by the rep yesterday). I was on biweekly payments prior to the program as well. When I sent in the forms to restart the biweekly payments I was informed the account had to be made current, which is when I discovered what I was told back in Oct. to be ver inaccurate about not making payments. So today I brought the account current paying over $3,000. Then was told that in order to get back on the biweekly payments I would also have to make Jan & Feb payments (another $4,000)! I was NEVER made aware of what a complete disaster and mess up this program would cause!

The first half of the experience was long and drawn out, while we are sitting there waiting around for all to close, all derails to a stop. Then another great employee, Jennifer stepped in and got things back on the track again. That is good news, but in the dead time the Feds changed the rate and we got stuck with high rates. Where was the person that needed to step in and make things right? Customer Service is becoming a thing of the past, just a no-care attitude, no accountability for people being tossed around like animals. It is all about the all mighty dollar, take it or leave it my friend. I was not brought up with this type of behavior, my parents taught me kindness, consideration, respect and good common sense. This world is teaching everyone to be a person about self and no consideration for others. What are your thoughts?

Highly reccomend Brandon, he did a fantastic job securing the loan and securing all necessary documents from both myself and other sources. Did have hiccups in the end causing my closing to be delayed twice and finally closing on the third attempt. Company will not stay past 5pm to get things done which often left my realtor, lawyer, and sellers agent hanging for answers last minute. Aside from that, I realize closings can be messy but this just felt sloppy.
