While understanding this was a non-QM loan and therefore required some unique qualifications for documentation, the process drug on for much longer than it needed to with continuing requests for more documentation, and often re-asking for the same information I had already submitted. As the process dragged on for over a month, I felt in the dark regarding what the underwriter was thinking and still evaluating. Eventually needed to escalate my concerns and get Matt involved to drive things to closure in order to get the loan approved on time for closing.
