I only rated the overall experience as "Just OK" because it took 5+ months to close. I started the process back in October 2020. Some of it was due to some administrative items on my side, but the process was still very long. There were some other request from the "loan approver" that I thought were unnecessary as well. Overall, the team was very courteous.

Had a problem getting the deed cleared. I have bought this house and refinanced with no problem before. The lady kept asking for copies of information that was contained in my closing paperwork but I was not able to locate documents under the name she was giving me. My loan was delayed because of this. Also, I have never received copies of my closing documents. I was told they would be emailed to me.

It wasn’t the best but definitely not the worst. We had to talk to at least 3 people multiple times to get answers. Some things asked of client seemed extremely late in the process. They were extremely friendly.

It honestly has nothing to do with Brian - our experience prior to Brian was the bad experience. Once Brian took over our refi, everything went smoothly, his communication was great, and things picked up speed (after 3 months of pretty horrible service). We probably won't recommend New American to a friend, but we absolutely appreciated Brian's professionalism and support once we had him on our team!

Up front service was exceptional. Throughout the entire refinance process, communications became more sparse the further we progressed. Additional costs related to escrow, property taxes, insurance, etc were actually explained by the title company notary at time of signing.
