Michael's service was acceptable, however, the whole underwriting experience was unacceptable. We received requests for additional documentation multiple times even after all loan documents had been signed. We were extremely frustrated with the level of disorganization.

While Candice was an excellent loan consultant at the beginning of the loan process, once I was passed on to the processor, I often did not hear from Candice. My processor would CC her in emails and we would not hear back. I had an arduous closing due to the title company that New American assigned me to, and I was upset that Candice did not ask me if I had already had a title company in mind before I was assigned.

We would have liked to go through all of the paperwork in person rather than over the phone or online. Many times we were sent items to sign with no explanation of what it was or what exactly was needed. Understandably, there is a lot of information needed. Settlement went great. We do feel like we can go to Michele for advice whenever we need it.

Michele was super sweet and talked me through everything at closing, which I appreciated. As a first time homebuyer, however, I knew nothing about this process. I received minimal communication about what to expect and what would be needed from me. I would’ve appreciated receiving more phone calls explaining what was going on throughout the process.

This process took almost 5 months to close. We had all of our paperwork in very quickly each time they asked for it but somehow in the midst of a computer application change on New American's end our stuff got "lost" in the change. We did have good communication with Jarrod but he sometimes could not figure out what was taking so long. We were given the rate we locked in though due to the fact it was their error that caused the delay. We had to pay 2-3 additional months of old payment though.
