There were issues with the preapproval process that I was not informed of until I finally reached out and asked what was causing the delay. More prompt communication would have allowed me to correct those issues, and probably could have saved a lot of time on my preapproval.

The lending company had some unrealistic expectations. It took me over 2 months to close on the loan. My first closing was scheduled, I sat in the parking lot for approximately 4 hours waiting for an appointment with the lending company still telling us to wait that the paperwork was on it’s way. It ended up being postponed another 3 weeks. When I expressed to Melvin that I would take my business elsewhere, he responded by telling me I had the right to leave at any time.

Hello Eric, Your employees were wonderful, courteous and very patient. The process is what I truly struggled with. So many emails and so many documents. I am sure for others this process may be fine but I found it confusing. I would have much preferred to come in and sign everything at one time, or brought paperwork to you at one time rather than in so many steps. I did appreciate your "timeline" or "next step in process" emails. Hope that makes sense. Feel free to call.

Mark Dorris made it great! We went through 2 loan originators prior to. One quit the agency and we started working with another within the agency and he left! Our file was kind of in “limbo,” and therefore put my fiancé and I on edge! Not to mention the entire process was delayed:( Mark was able to come in and quickly pick up the mess and he kept us posted on the process. This company better keep him around because he is the reason we steadied the course with New American Funding!
