The underwriters need to do a better job in communicating to the loan officer EXACTLY what they need, in the BEGINNING, so that they can let the borrower know exactly what is needed and what to expect before a lot of TIME iIS WASTED. My experience was unpleasantly because the requirements for the USDA loan were not clearly communicated regarding individuals who are separated (but not legally separated or divorced) from their spouse. Also, at the last minute, I was told about a land survey that was needed for measurements that land surveyors don't typically measure. Everything could have been much better if I was prepared UP FRONT for what was required.. Also, the loan processor kept asking me for documents that I know that I uploaded to the portal. Why is that? Was she not aware of the portal? If she was aware of the portal, did she check in the portal before asking for documents I had already submitted.
