My loan officer was changed in the middle of the refinance process, no the current loan officer’s fault. I would be asked to submit documentation but was expected to submit via non-secure methods, I would have to ask for secure link. I wish there would have been better follow up. Towards then end of the process I mostly communicated with a processor vs. my loan officer. Maybe that’s normal?

Communication could’ve been better once the process got underway. Unfortunately, it was difficult to get ahold of Chris. Multiple emails and text had to be sent just to get in contact with him. Not pleased at all with this transaction.

There was 1.5 weeks at the end, beginning 13March, where we attempted to contact Chris and did not receive any communication back. We were expecting to close on 20March based on closing disclosures we signed online. We called on 23March and spoke with his supervisor, Aaron, who assured us we'd hear back from Chris, and that the item we had called about was resolved. We came to find another item was unfinished and we still had a week before closing. Communication would've made the difference.

Better communication and honesty would be helpful. False assertions about the timeline for the loan closing aren't helpful. Chris was nice, attentive and polite. Rarely answered the phone or called back though. Bottom line is that the loan process took far longer then I would have expected, over 90 days on the 2nd attempt to push the same refinance through. The entire process from when I was initially contacted was about 7 months...

Chris communicated well up until we locked the loan. I emailed called and texted him multiple times with no response. However, Lisa Chong who was the assigned processor on my loan was great. She communicated very well and responded in a timely manner. Not sure the loan would have closed if it wasn't for her.

I was asked to provide the same documents multiple times. Several different people were involved on the New American side, and it appeared that they were not communicating. The first time the notary was scheduled to come to my house to close, no one showed up. Only after I called to inquire was I told that the documentation wasn't ready and the closing had to be delayed. Poor communication throughout the entire process.

Return phone calls in a timely matter, listen to client when they say when the financial stuff is due, and not blame the client when a deadline is missed.
