Sometimes the communication could have been timelier. I would have appreciated a head’s up with regard to my limitations with my VA Certificate of Eligibility; I very likely would have waited until I sold my current home had I known I had to make a down payment. That cost me a significant amount of money and trouble (getting money out of my retirement accounts).

Eduenis was very helpful in walking us through the process. As a first time buyer, I appreciated her clear explanations.

Lack of sense of urgency getting things prepared for closing. Did not close as scheduled. Items being requested 24 to 48 hours before closing that should have been handled weeks prior. Ethan was great but that aspect was very stressful

There should be an option between ‘ok’ and ‘great’. I think Mike L. was terrific on everything, except the home appraisal. I think Mutual of Omaha, on the whole, dropped the ball with us when we were trying to contest the appraisal. Our home is now being appraised (Zillow) at exactly what we paid for it less then a month after we closed. Now I’m concerned that we’ll be penalized, in some way, for my frankness? But, this is the 3rd survey reminder that I’ve received, so I’m finally filling it out. We all know that this has been an insane market for 2+ years. Mike is the only mortgage lender representative that we spoke with when heading back to Minnesota. Again, we think he’s terrific. I don’t know how the appraisal would have gone if we were with a different lender. We are just sooooo exhausted from trying our luck in Washington for a year and now heading back to Minnesota. That lowball appraisal on our home was just one more major letdown in a long series of disappointments for us in this mad, crazy, upside down market.

An overview page that everyone used and followed. A pizza tracker to know where things were precisely in the total process. An introduction with all of the different people involved. New people kept popping up at the beginning. Closing documents in my hand more than 9 minutes before closing. Faster and better communication on close day to help find the actual wired funds. We were parked in the closing room and then told to leave until the wire transfer completed.
