New American Funding Reviews

The whole refinance process was unsatisfactory, not necessarily a problem with Alex, but with newamerican as a whole. Internal communication was non-existent as we were constantly asked with extreme urgency and at odd hours for documentation we already provided. We also received conflicting paper documents in the mail regarding both cancellation and setup of autopay. Our mortgage was then sold to Wells Fargo with errors in our personal info (another constant throughout the process).

We did not receive timely replies to emails, calls, or texts looking for simple things like status updates or confirmation of documents received. In several cases it was clear that the different members of our team (Darcey, Cesar, Renata) were not communicating where things were out or things that needed to be followed up on. Cesar was helpful when we did manage to make contact and is knowledgeable and a good communicator in that sense (and in general a nice guy) but he is hard to get a hold of.

I will not be selecting New American Funding to refinance when interest rates lower, nor will I refer NAF to any of my friends. This is why: Riana - Michelle Michelle's emails are rude. Bonnie spoke with her and she was pleasant over the phone, however her emails were unpleasant. We had a closing date from day one. Why didn't R or M ensure everything was in order before the final week? M stated that this situation is due to "the borrower" providing documentation at a late date. I beg to differ. The late closing was due to advice from Riana on adding another party to the mortgage. Riana told me Michelle holds her submissions to the underwriter until they are complete, this delayed my mortgage because it wasn't complete when she finally submitted it.

$1000 I wasn’t aware at closing table, $3500 seller agree to put towards the closing was off the table plus delay receiving keys after EVERYTHING WAS FUNDED then gas & electric were off next day moving everything into the home after we final received keys, overall I didn’t like the process and unexpected money I had to spend

That was the roughest transaction I have ever completed. Original close date was 5/16 and it kept getting dragged out with one thing after another. This was so poorly run. Bryan would tell us one thing and we would get the opposite from Gina. I felt like smoke was blown up my bu** 20-30 times at least. The organization was terrible, nothing was prepped and it felt like you all could have dragged this out for weeks if we did not sit there and yell. I have never yelled at loan officer, this was the absolute, hands down, worst closing ever!!! I will be submitting this to yelp!

Joe repeatedly called my condo proof of insurance a quote or not a real policy when in the end after 8 calls to change closing dates and regenerate paperwork both initiated by me and my insurance provider, he ultimately accepted the exact same documents we were sending all along. He advised on document transfer over email which is not a secure way to do business and left the document portal unchecked. Some awareness that automation is constantly notifying his clients in the background would help. I put documents into the portal and it constantly notified me of tasks he didn’t set or close out when satisfied. I sincerely appreciated that He was very respectful about a former employer that I asked for special handling with but didn’t try and he backup number I gave for a second supervisor. He didn’t answer calls when attempting to conference him with my insurance provider. There are more things I felt made this a bad experience over all. The closing date change, the lack of feedback on math led me to rely more on ChatGPT. It all felt rushed and like I was a hassle to deal with. Probably true but there’s some really basic communication skills that would help improve the experience by setting expectations.

We weren’t communicated with on why we needed to submit certain paperwork. It was just “you need to turn this in so the underwriter can have it”. We shouldn’t have had to talk with John’s boss for explanation. Bryan never answered his phone unless he needed something. John lost his cool multiple times. Any question asked pertaining to the underwriter it was responded with “that isn’t important “. John gave a lot of attitude and seemed annoyed when we had questions. As a first time home buyer I was already overwhelmed. John and his team did not make it any easier. Jordan was annoyed every time she answered the phone. The team just was not pleasant at all. I would never recommend and have been spreading word to not go with this Lendor because of our situation. When we finally did close NAF didn’t transfer the right amount. They were short $12,000 and we were told we couldn’t have the keys because if their mess up. It was one thing after another and just a miserable experience.

His lack of communication, him and his team taking over 72 days to close a refinance.. completely worst experience I have ever had... I have a 3 bedroom 4 bath I showed him public record proof it after he sent a appraisal company that said my house was 2 bedroom/3 bath.. it completely threw my refinance off he didn’t fight for it.. I showed him what my realtor showed me.. what was in public record.. I pay taxes on a 3 bed for bath!! He sent me different ## multiple times. Not professional
