I had two loan transactions, a refinance and a vacation home purchase. The process was good but there were some miscommunications. For the refinance information was provided that the previous lender had already paid the annual insurance. The final closing withheld money for that payment. As a revised close schedule wasn’t provided ahead of time our options at closing were to delay the close while new paperwork was requested or sign the paperwork and wait for the refund. For the vacation home purchase there was one piece of information not received from the HOA just prior to closing. This document was apparently outstanding for a week but nothing was ever communicated to us. We were notified about the problem 1 hour prior to the scheduled close. Once we knew about the problem we worked with our realtor and it was resolved within the hour. Unfortunately the closing was delayed until late afternoon which affected furniture deliveries scheduled for that day.
