Better communication regarding the status of the loan, especially when it was time to close. The appraisal happened quickly and buyer was informed but I wasn't. Underwriting took a very long time and there was very poor communication at the end of the process. Buyer had to come back a second day to complete the closing.

I didn't have a problem at all with my interactions with Sarah from the perspective of interpersonal communications. My issue was unpleasant because of how our mutual clients were treated. The borrowers had underwritten pre-approval, then just 2 business days before the scheduled closing, Sarah informed both the clients and me that the underwriter was requiring additional documentation that would delay closing by 2 weeks, in all likelihood, and possibly longer. It was only after I referred my clients to my preferred (local) lender, and NAF got wind of that, that suddenly a more attractive alternative was offered, that would enable closing only 3 days late, instead of 2+ weeks late. So, given this experience, and regardless of how friendly or pleasant or professional Sarah was, how could I possibly consider using her or NAF again? As an agent, I'd have no confidence in a timely closing. Btw, I ignored the initial request for feedback, knowing my feedback wouldn't be positive. When I received the 2nd prompt, I decided to oblige.

If communication was better amongst the team so that we didn't have to resend documents multiple times just to get emails asking for things we had already sent. Lots of mistakes were made and many balls were dropped which postponed our closing date and cost us way more financially because of that delay! Steve is a very nice man. I just think he's in over his head and his team were causing him stress.

Tania never responded to questions. There was a breakdown in communication between all parties involved in the process. The automated emails did not have accurate information or else the person I dealt with was wrong. After signing closing documents with the title company, I was told the mortgage company had sent more papers to be signed and had to go back. Kaliko was the most helpful and most informed of all the team.

Just felt the whole experience was very unprofessional

Be more on top of the timeline. Closing date is already the next day but the lender just found out there are more requirements needed. Closing date has been set and it is their responsibility to be aware of that timeline.

Kevin pretty much disappeared half way through the process, even after assuring me in our first call he would be with me throughout the entire process. He was unresponsive to emails and voicemails, and the lack of response almost ended up in us not being able to close before months end. Fortunately, Maira Valazquez was responsive and able to get things done for us at the end.

Several days before closing I was informed I couldn’t get the original loan terms, due to a miscalculation in income from NAF. I was left scrambling finding a specific paycheck from years ago from a previous employer, which was a nightmare. I ended having to pay an additional $25k at closing. Poor communication all around. Jeff Speer came in and eventually saved the day.
