I had inquired about the cost breakdown of home ownership because being a first time home buyer I wanted to know everything before signing paperwork and letting them check my credit. Well I have the rep information to contact my place of work so they can get income information so we can get some numbers. I haven't heard back; no email or phone call. It's like if you are one that takes time and wants things explained and laid out, then it's like they throw you aside; you don't matter to them anymore. I'm actually glad I didn't allow them to check my credit and I will be locking my credit report.

When I was approved for my loan Mr. Ream called my realtor and told her how much I was approved for. I never gave him permission to do this. This put me in an uncomfortable situation because I was not planning to use this realtor after it was recommended to use a realtor through NAF because I would get a discount. I think another problem was that Mr. Ream did not listen to me. He did things the way he wanted. I could write more but it is not allowing me to.

This was the first time I ever refinanced my home and this was the worst experience ever. If New American Funding treats all of their customer this way I really wonder how they get continued business. or say they are rated A+ with the Better Business Bureau. These surveys are a joke when the little communication I hit from this individual was insignificant. Anything I answer was not applicable but I had to answer something to move on. I recommend you think before sending random surveys out to people who really should just not participate

Matt Reyes was amazing he was always there to answer all my question rather it was a phone call, text or email. Eric was never available and always pushed me off to Matt. I only had two very short phone calls with Eric and one time I spoke with him in the he was very rude and short.

We would have preferred more informative communication about costs and the closing process. In many ways we felt manipulated by lack of information in order to be secured as customers.

What would have made my experience better would have been having a different loan officer. Phylisha incorrectly quoted me loan terms >5x and almost lost me my first home after telling me the Monday before a Friday close that the underwriters were denying my loan despite my financial situation improving post-pre approval. She was unprofessional, unavailable, and I absolutely would not recommend New American. Run - don't walk - to another lender.

Get structure and communications within departments figured out. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing at any given time. In addition I would suggest re-training your employees so that they understand what the processes are when handling loan approvals and closings.
