I provided a rating of 4 of 5 stars in 2 areas just because there was some information that changed during the course of the refi, such as the $500 appraisal that was not needed at first, but then required later in the process. Then some confusion as to who needed to sign the closing docs (spouse). Overall, I still would have gone with Stearns regardless of appraisal cost and Paul did a great job with all other aspects of the process and answered my numerous questions.

Ryan and was excellent, these final comments are aside from his work on this loan. Kimberly was excellent at communication, however there was redundancy in asking for the same documents several times. I also had to point out what I consider to be highly visible information in annotated versions of the same document. I believe in constructive criticism and that is how this is meant to be taken. Kimberly worked under a very tight closing window up until the final hours to complete this loan and I truly appreciate the effort. My biggest issue with NAF was on my final loan disclosures. There was a “system error” that added an additional ~$10,000 to my cash required to close that no one caught until it reached me. Thankfully, I was able to catch it but that seems like a pretty big issue to just be a system error. As a first time homebuyer, that doesn’t exactly instill trust in the company. I understand that mistakes happen and that I made mistakes during the process as well, but a $10,000 error should be caught when it increases cash to close by %50 compared to initial estimates.
