Processes were often delayed (mostly by the title company) but things were also made more difficult by a long communication chain from the mortgage broker to the title company. Additionally, I was getting documents to e-sign when I was already in my closing appointment, which itself took 3 hours to complete.

This process took a lot longer than expected. There were more and more documents needed to proceed and I wasn't able to get my final closing amount due until late the night before my closing, which wasn't ideal. But still satisfactory work and got the job done.

Communication could have been better. Felt like i needed to follow up on questions. There was confusion around final closing with a total of 3 sessions scheduled. You did call to clear that up eventually but it was a bit odd. The percentage of the rate was different than initially stated. Advice with questions would take days to reply and twice needed an additional follow up. The experience was OK but nothing memorable.

It is just that at the very end I opened but didn’t sign online forms. I have never had to sign online closing before. It would have been nice if someone reached out that day to say I hadn’t done it properly. Instead I had to sign again in person and digitally 3 days later. I am also very concerned and confused that not all my pay offs have been paid. I had reached out to Sean a few days ago and he said typically 3 days. It has been over a week since losing and money toward payoffs remains missing.

I would prefer to get some important updates through phone over emails

The multiple pricing changes and discrepancies between NAF estimates and pricing requested from the title company during the last 24hrs before closing were not fun to deal with. The title company/my lawyer ended up being correct, NAF's estimate was wrong. Scrambling around 1hr before closing to secure a check for $4,000 extra (that I ended up not needing since the math was done wrong) was a bit annoying for sure. The closing date was also pushed back since Sara asked me to produce IRS forms that I had never seen before, 48hrs from closing. Multiple times prior, I had asked her for a FULL list of every document I would need to produce so I wouldn't run into last minute issues. I wouldn't have cared that much about a 24hr closing delay except for the fact that I had specifically asked to see a list of every document I would need prior to this issue. Besides that, Matthew and Sara were good at communicating. I hope this was just a one time issue, but I understand things happen.

I have been a customer/ member of NAF for a while now and overall am happy with the company as a whole. During this past experience I did feel like there was a lack of communication. I’ve sent a few emails or text messages and the reply would be a day or so before I would get a response. Refinancing or buying a home can be pretty scary from time to time and it is nice to have quick answers when you are stressed or anxious about something. So not getting a response for a day or so is pretty uneasy.
