Better communication

In the end Mark was not understanding and made a comment that they service millions of mortgages and sorry that this was missed. Meaning there was something that was missed and the communication was lacking to the point a supervisor was involved. Mark made me feel the my small mortgage was not worth his time in the end. Thank god for Alberto for making the situation better.

the way you distribute the funds that i'm getting you choose your own way to pay off the credit card and issued a check under their name and have me mail each one of them. now a days most mortgage companies that i had in the past if i want to pay off my credit card they will pay them directly and not a check. it will take 7-10 business days for them to apply it in my account, these payment should be done by automatic transfer and not me mailing the checks. the other option that you should do is to wire all the money to me and i will pay it online for faster processing. now a days a lot of checks are missing in the mail and as of now some of my creditors did not received it yet and i got so worried. this should be avoided if you just trust me to do it my self since its my money anyway.

He was at a Veterans Affairs event; therefore, I thought he had my best interest in mind. I only wanted to pre-qualify for a loan amount. Once he pre-qualified me for the amount that I asked about, he ran started the loan process without telling me my options for getting the lowest interest rate from all lenders available. He ran a "hard credit report" before asking me, At the beginning, I kept saying do not run a credit report. I believe that once he saw my credit score and knew that I had a paid for house, he was just looking at "dollar signs" and forgot that he was found at a Veterans Affairs sponsored event. My wife did not like that David did not mention all of my options, especially a "FLOAT DOWN OPTION."

Communication started out reliable but dwindled as the process went on. Professionalism was lacking severely.

I was in a very tight closing date and I just felt like there wasn't adequate hustle and follow up on requests. I am somewhat understanding that a tight closing date comes with certain challenges but I was assured from the beginning of the engagement we would make it no problem and there were several moments where I felt like the lender did not help to hurry the close along. We had to push the closing date once and almost a second time. In the end we did get it done but it was stressful.

Having someone in person and in the same time zone would have made this much easier. Confirmation of the documents we sent in or had faxed so we knew you guys received important information. We had to reach out and ask as well as send in the same things multiple times. We feel like in person would work much better. Most of the time as husband and wife we would be in different locations and wouldn't be together during phone calls.

Review by David John Dibene for Jason Black

Jason started strong with lots of good information. He was almost always available and if not he got back immediately but this changed after we went into contract on the house. He wasn't as quick to respond to questions and he seemed out of touch with the process and with us as we neared the finish line. What would have made it better is if he had checked in more often to see how we were doing and responded quicker to our concerns and questions as we neared closing. This would have made it smoother and we probably would have avoided some of the last minute fire drills had the communication been more frequent.
