Better communication, it would have been smoother if we had a conversation before the process began. It was in bits and pieces which caused frustration on our part.

The refinance loan process was a difficult experience and has been by far the worst. We lived at our first home for 17 years. This is our 2nd home we have been here for 17 years. We were so close to saying we've had enough. We have paid our 2019 taxes and we've paid our 2020 taxes. Requesting 3 different times for us to prove that we had paid them. We couldn't believe the hoops we were put through. First treat people with respect. Look at there past. People who have owned 2 homes for 17 years each and paid on time should be okay to loan to. If IRS says that we paid our taxes then they are paid. This loan was for Ted & Sherry. In the future both should be part of the phone process. Our loan officer only would speak with Ted and not Sherry. When Sherry was the person behind all the emailing and gathering documents. We ended up hiring our own Title company because New American doubled their amount they estimated. New American should put the real amount up front. At closing we ended up getting cheated because we didn't go with their Title company. We found out a few days before we were going to lose our lock. So our closing costs went up.

Shannon was excellent. We was attentive & always quick to respond. The problem I have with your company & I’m not sure who’s responsibility it is/was to communicate with me, the fact that there were specific bills to be paid off as part of my loan. That checks were going to written out to the those companies. Had I known that information, I would not have paid 3 bills off AND 5 useless checks would never have been created payable to utility or telecom self-reported. Totaling $548 + $2598 for the credit cards that I paid off and am having a very difficult time getting my money back from your company. They will not accept the forms of proof that the banks are supplying. Again clear communication & a little common sense applied and this could have all been avoided.

It would be more memorable if I didn't have to resend documents . If I was not giving so many different closing dates that were not truly the closing dates, this was particularly stressful on me thinking I was closing only to be told more documents were needed. This is my side of the story. Scott most definitely went to bat for me with so many obstacles bottom line we closed on the house two sides to every situation than there is the truth.

Day of closing the buyer was upset with me because he said your final closing figures did not include all of the charges (ex. our office transaction fee and HOA transfer fee) and said if they were legitimate charges that they would have appeared on your closing numbers. He called you to discuss and said he doubts they are legit since you didn't know about them. He agreed before buying to our transaction fee and the attorney's office added the fees that you didn't show but the buyer was not happy with us due to your explanation to him. The attorney or title company makes sure all fees are charged and balanced and it is unfortunate that you did not give him that explanation. Otherwise I was happy with the service but not such a great ending since now he does not trust me.
