Shane worked super hard to make all things work for this loan! He communicated extremely well at every level. He also always answered our questions effectively. Customer service was always superb and he always had a positive attitude even when situations did not go as planned. We certainly had some obstacles beyond anyone's control, but we were all able to work together to get the best possible outcome. People of this caliber are far and few between in this day and time. We are super grateful for Shane and his team, and all their hard work to make our new home possible!!!!

Didn't like more than one person to deal with

My process of looking for a mortgage was somewhat unusual, in that I did so without having a credit score (I had some credit history with a perfect track record, but I don't use credit cards, so it had been several years since I had any active accounts) so many places would not work with me at all, or just kept insisting I go get a credit card to reactivate my score. Alex did suggest that would be easier, but didn't push it, and acknowledged that with the type of loan I was seeking it wouldn't make much if any difference in my rate, and we went ahead with the manual underwriting process to verify my creditworthiness through other means. Though the earlier stages, right up until we were signing the sale agreement, I was also working with another lender (who actively promotes their "no-score loan", so I expected I'd end up getting a better deal from them), because I wanted to compare apples to apples and have the most complete information possible before making the decision. Their loan officer responded more quickly than Alex at times, but Alex was consistently more clear and thorough, and just more pleasant to talk to. He took the time to answer all my first-time homebuyer and general nerdy questions, including walking through both cost breakdowns with me to make sure I understood what I was looking at and was indeed comparing apples to apples. Throughout those initial stages, I found myself hoping NAF would end up being the better deal financially because I would rather give Alex my business than the other person, and ultimately he was able to make sure I got the best terms with NAF. The rest of the process was smooth sailing on my end, as Alex and his team got my loan approved quickly and helped me through the rest of what needed to happen to close, even when the sellers requested we move closing up a week - and all of this over the holidays!

Greg always followed up with me whenever I had questions. We closed before 3 weeks time. It was closer to 2 weeks. He was an amazing communicator And explained things very well. I researched 3 other companies who were lenders and chose American funding because of him.
