About Trent Hekel

After serving 21 dedicated years in the United States Marine Corps, I have retired and returned to my roots in the Cedar Rapids/Marion area. My journey in the military was both challenging and rewarding, filled with experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. From my first day of boot camp to my final day in uniform, I have been proud to serve my country, building lifelong friendships and learning invaluable lessons along the way.

My military career was diverse and dynamic, offering me opportunities to serve in various capacities around the world. I was honored to lead and mentor young Marines, helping them grow both personally and professionally. These experiences have instilled in me a deep sense of commitment and a desire to continue serving my community in meaningful ways.

Upon retiring, I made the decision to move back to the Cedar Rapids/Marion area, a place that has always felt like home. The sense of community, the friendly faces, and the familiar surroundings have made this transition seamless and welcoming. I am excited to reconnect with old friends and make new ones as I embark on this new phase of my life.

In my new role with New American Funding, I have found a perfect alignment with my values and skills. Working with veterans and non-veterans to help them achieve their dream of home ownership is incredibly fulfilling. I understand the challenges that many face when trying to secure a home, and I am committed to providing the support and guidance needed to navigate this complex process.
