New American Funding is pleased to announce that Karen Chiu has joined the New American Funding team and has been appointed to oversee builder business development, particularly in the greater Los Angeles area.
Karen Chiu has been in the mortgage industry since 1991 and has been originating loans since 2005 for many of the largest mortgage lenders in the business. Karen brings a deep mortgage background to New American Funding, having originated nearly every loan ranging from down payment assistance first-time homebuyer programs, to super-jumbo programs for the seasoned borrower. Karen’s unique skillset also includes an expertise in resale and new construction condo financing, condo conversion financing and new construction build outs.
In the past nine years since she began originating mortgages, Karen has closed over 2,000 loans and expects this number to grow since joining New American Funding’s Builder Division. Having worked with many builders from up-and-coming builders to nationally established builders including KB Homes and Equity Residential, Karen’s diverse skillset serves to only strengthen New American Funding’s existing footprint as a reputable and seasoned lender serving the residential new home construction industry. “I’m thrilled to have Karen on board,” states Vice President of the Builder Division, Gigi Renick, “Her wealth of experience and attention to detail will greatly contribute to the New American Funding builder infrastructure.”
Karen’s goal is to continue to help a wide range of clientele obtain homeownership including first-time buyers, FHA buyers, those seeking jumbo loans, and those seeking to purchase a resale or new construction residence. When asked about her commitment to creating the best possible experience for the new homebuyer, Karen says: “I believe the New American Funding platform, with its wide range of mortgage product options, will best serve my customers, and that’s why I’m here.”
Karen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from UCLA and has also attended UCLA’s Anderson School of Management for Executive Management. Currently, she resides in San Marino with her husband and three children. Karen is also a member of the National Charity League San Marino Chapter.
